GAC STAFF GO ON RETREAT AT BUSUA BEACH RESORT, IN WESTERN REGION

The Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC) held its annual staff retreat on the 17th to 21st January, 2022 at Busua Beach Resort in the Western Region. The 2022 session formed part of Management’s effort to create an environment that promotes meaningful interactions between staff members towards quality and efficient service delivery on GAC’s mandate as the National Coordinator on the HIV and AIDS response.

Dr. Kyeremeh Atuahene, Director General of GAC expressed his appreciation to all staff and presented year 2022 strategic direction and outlook. He entreated staff to focus on results-based management with emphasis on output and impact. Topics treated included change management, personal financial planning, exposition on GAC’s mandate and Integrity.

Staff shared in the excitement of the Director General’s success in acquiring a PHD by cutting a cake and congratulating him.

Ms. Rita Afriyie, GAC Technical Coordinator for Greater Accra Region was adjudged the winner for the year 2021 Integrity Award. As part of bonding activities for staff, keep-fit exercises were done at dawn while in-door and out-door competitive games were held in the afternoon among divisions. The Finance and Administration Division won the first position followed by Research, Monitoring and Evaluation as second while the Technical Services Division placed third.

Staff also enjoyed a boat-riding tour to Nzulezu, a village built on Lake Tadane a town in the Western Region of Ghana.
