Regional Offices
The operational backbone of Ghana’s national HIV & AIDS response, bringing services, coordination, and leadership to every region.
Overview
About the Regional Offices
The Ghana AIDS Commission’s regional offices are the backbone of its national HIV & AIDS response, bringing services closer to communities and strengthening the decentralized response. These offices serve as the operational arms of the Commission, supporting prevention, care, and policy implementation at the regional and sub-regional levels, delivering services to every corner of Ghana. The Commission maintains regional offices across all 16 regions of Ghana to ensure nationwide coordination of HIV & AIDS programs. This decentralized presence allows the Commission to tailor interventions to the unique needs of each region, considering cultural, social, and epidemiological differences. Each region has a dedicated office that works closely with key partners such as the Ghana Health Service, NGOs, and community-based organizations. All the Regional Offices are located within the Regional Coordinating Councils across the country.
“To provide leadership and coordination for the decentralized HIV and AIDS response across all regions of Ghana, ensuring that national strategies are translated into local action and that every community is reached.”
Regional Coordinators
Each regional office is led by a Regional Coordinator working within the Regional Coordinating Council to align the HIV response with local priorities and national goals.
